Der Hazelburn 10 Jahre gehört zu Springbank und wird im Gegensatz zu den anderen Malts der Brennerei dreifach destilliert. Außerdem verzichtet man bei diesem Malt gänzlich auf den Einsatz von Torfrauch.
Blumig-duftende Aromen strömen in die Nase, begleitet von frischem Malz, Honig, Vanille und grünem Apfel. Nach und nach zeigen sich auch dezente Kräuternoten sowie Limetten und Karamell.
Im Mund ist er sehr weich und leicht, bietet aber zeitgleich ein dezentes öliges Mundgefühl. Er bringt auch hier Aromen von Vanille, süßem Malz, dezente Kräuter, Karamell und frischen Limetten mit. Das ganze wird im Abgang noch ergänzt durch eine leichte Geschmack nach Lackritze.
Ein geradliniger und ausgewogener Single Malt, der auch geschmacklich ausbalanciert ist. Auf Färbung und Filtrierung wird verzichtet, mit einer angenehmen Trinkstärke von 46.0 % abgefüllt und dann auch noch zu einem vernünftigen Preis angeboten. Das hört man als Whiskyliebhaber doch gerne.
Hier stimmt und überzeugt das PLV auf jeden Fall!
